I recall years ago when our two oldest were little and we went to the beach a couple times of year, I'd never let them near the piers. They still seem foreboding to me; as if something could be caught under the water. (I've seen too many movies:-) I like the sunlight streaming in on this scene. It's a dogwood tree. We grow them in our yards, but they grow wild as a native tree in the woods of Arkansas. They're particularly thick in the mountains. It's always the white blooming trees that are wild, but I've seen people plant a white one and a hybrid pink one in the same hole and allow them to grow up together, intertwining.
