Incroyable comme vue. La lumière, les couleurs, le superbe cadrage ... Tout y est c'est splendide. Pierre @ 2010-01-22 02:06:07
beautiful composition on this shot john! love the overall angle of the pier and the waves splashing in! Liang @ 2010-01-22 02:13:13
Hello, An amazing perspective that takes us to the infinite glowing! The foreground is great. Good day. tede @ 2010-01-22 02:53:39
This image is just as depressing as beautiful. Lighting and tones are perfect. You have captured really an apocalyptic sentiment. Reiner @ 2010-01-22 02:55:33
Wow, great, the colours are amazing. Very nice! Frank @ 2010-01-22 03:27:05
John, I have no clue how you manage to do all these beautiful captures. I watch in awe every time I'm here.
Beautiful composition but one wonders if there is something going on because the image leaves a feeling of unease. Or perhaps a sunrise of a new better day. Excellent work anyhow! Frida @ 2010-01-22 04:04:27
Love the depth the pier gives this image, the way you have composed this also gives it a great balance, the only thing that feels a little flat is the sky, especially in contrast to the pier. Claus Petersen @ 2010-01-22 04:35:07
i like teh sunset,John. Is very beutiful. Oscar @ 2010-01-22 05:18:22
Composicion, procesado y color fantasticos...
Por muchas felicitaciones que te demos siempre nos quedamos cortos.
There is an awsome glow in the sky and it is wonderful the way the glow shins on the posts in the beach and on the bridge. Harry @ 2010-01-22 11:42:01
Certainly has a stark, meanacing apocalyptic feel, John. Michael Skorulski @ 2010-01-22 12:11:22
Oh yes, I'm loving this. Great colours and a very dramatic capture. The underside of the pier is eerie and the posts in the sand are quite menacing. Truly lovely. mooch @ 2010-01-22 12:22:25
Light and colors are fantastic. Perfect HDR work. tom @ 2010-01-22 14:41:54
YOu have managed to highlight the concrete very nicely. I love the colors and textures. I like the sharpness of this image. Andrés @ 2010-01-22 17:43:49
A wonderful image, great HDR processing, very nice, well done! One @ 2010-01-22 18:38:34
love how detailed this shot of yours is.. and those colors, wow! :D excellent shot! :D rian @ 2010-01-22 20:19:44
I really like the composition of this one. Except for the sky, it looks like a colorized illustration. Jan @ 2010-01-22 21:58:16
Wow John, those panaramic's are quite unique, the detail on this shot when you zoom in is unmatched. This is a great one. leslie wargo @ 2010-01-22 22:29:26
Aptly named. The pier looks like a scene from a futuristic movie where some calamity has wiped out human life. sherri @ 2010-01-23 00:24:11
Awesome HDR! Very well done! Laszlo @ 2010-01-23 02:27:33

Absolutely fantastic! I like the signs of the sea on the pier, the mix of colors.. bravo. Angelo @ 2010-01-23 13:33:47
Looks like there tore down the old pier to make way for progress. Such an interesting image. Really like the pano version as well. Mike @ 2010-01-23 14:42:15
aaaaah out from under!!! love the streak of orange in the sunset, and that looks like a totally bigger pier am i right? love the half God half man feeling to the photo :) well done you!! Elaine- @ 2010-01-23 15:18:04

Really apocalyp John... amazing tones and drama here!! Congrats!!
x Xavi Heredia @ 2010-01-24 07:12:19
WOW! Not only are the colors extraordinary but I love how the lines of light and the pier come together. Stunning - as always!!! Marcie @ 2010-01-24 11:51:30
That is a terrific composition. You are going to turn into a troll if you keep hanging about under piers. Michael Rawluk @ 2010-01-24 14:11:30
Such a strong image. Story telling from another dimension. john @ 2010-01-24 15:47:17
You've kept us waiting.....And yes: IT WAS WORTH IT! Fantastic picture! Straight out of another dimension. Simply Spectacular! One of these days you're gonna have to tell the rest of humanity how you manage this? How many shots behind this one? Congartulations! mike @ 2010-01-24 17:02:42
A great effect of the low, rich sunlight on the underpinnings of the pier.
Fabulous sky image. A WOW shot for sure. don @ 2010-01-24 18:16:36
gorgeous scene. great colors. Otto K. @ 2010-01-24 20:48:29
interesting title. i wonder if you mean 'end of time' in the apocalyptical sense or if you just mean that the sense of time fades away in a place like this. i notice your POV here seems higher here than in a lot of your pier shots - creating a more spacious feeling. lovely work.
Simply spectacular; Great control of colors and excellent definition; Composition is also masterful. Congratulations. Victor Curto @ 2010-01-25 09:35:59
I like the way you've splitted the frame in two. BoB @ 2010-01-25 10:48:15
Fantastic processing...looks so surreal as if it's out of a video game. Jim @ 2010-01-25 16:24:25

A powerful and colorful image as usual!
Superb ! Sidney @ 2010-01-25 20:43:24
Beyond the stunning light, color, and presentation - what really makes this image exciting is how the complex geometry of all the elements lock and balance. Quite a dance you have going here, John. Really inspired. Stephen Phillips @ 2010-01-25 21:34:45
Nicely done, John. Stunning. Roland @ 2010-01-25 22:20:59

Groovy shot. I like how the orange tones in the sky also show up on some of the piers. SD (Aspherical) @ 2010-01-26 22:19:33
haha. it has that feeling to it doesn't it. its funny how eerie those colors come off. joe @ 2010-01-26 22:21:44
You really do these piers and bridges well. When I see your work I wonder why I've stayed away from photoblogs so long. Great stuff. Dustin @ 2010-01-26 22:47:14

Holy cow... Your images still shock me... mannedspace @ 2010-01-27 11:02:14

C'est très beau mais je ne peux te suivre dans cette illusion d'une perfection complétement factice. Ne peux tu rendre le réel dans sa merveilleuse imperfection? Lasiate @ 2010-01-28 06:18:18
some things make me jealous:
the beach when i am not there
the taste of an orange when i am sleeping
the beauty of reality made
unreal by its very beauty.
it's an incredible image, john. Seraphine @ 2010-01-29 01:07:26
Perfectly composed and light is simply divine!
Another masterpiece, John! claude @ 2010-01-30 15:31:23
John - this does look like the end of time! Great capture. I love the fleeting sunset. Roland @ 2010-01-31 07:34:12
your prefered bridge , always the same and always different
Oh, goodness - this one is mesmerizing - there is an excitement about getting to explore around this space - if only with the eye. Also really like the warmth of the light contrasting against the cold water and inauspicious sky. Kevin from OrganicPix.com @ 2010-02-01 10:51:04
Another impressive piece of work. PIXistenz @ 2010-02-02 14:22:29

Another stellar image, great composition and excellent HDR processing. Ben @ 2010-02-07 17:40:43
Wow... those weathered piling up front are gorgeous! The amount of detail in just them is astounding. Once again, a very moody image. Mike Paulison @ 2010-02-15 11:05:19
lol -- i typed up nice greeting only to lose it all into the voids of cyberspace!!! howdy mate, i see i have been missing some stunning work from you -- although that does not surprise me!! :)
i have been gone a good while and in my absence i have decided to phase out the blogging bit, and thus leave am3. i believe i am going to simply choose a sort of portfolio site where i can display my work in bigger size and better resolution. not sure exactly what that will be but will certainly be in touch when i get resettled.
hope this finds you well and that 2010 has been kind to you thus far.
